The Museum Development Network
The Museum Development Network’s overarching goal is to enable diverse, inclusive and innovative museums that welcome people from all backgrounds. Together we create a thriving museum sector by raising standards, driving excellence and training people working in museums.
The long standing and hugely successful Museum Development Network required an update to their existing branding to reflect their evolving values and distinctive services. The new logo needed to reflect the nuanced differences and connections between the national Network and the Museum Development Programme and also clearly and plainly identify the organisation to the public who may not have yet encountered it.
The design entry to the open competition focusses on traditional themes of neo classical structures to create a visual amalgam of recognisable shapes. These four shapes (a classic arch, Doric column and raked cornice) all come together to form a collective identity for the network that is also incredibly adaptable for marketing purposes as individual elements.
